Mev Puleo

There are numerous ways to effectively change the world we are living in. I found Mev fascinating because she believed in taking small steps to evoke change.  She was an individual. Her aim was 'to revere the human spirit and bridge the distance between persons.' She achieved this through her photography that brought two different worlds together. The unbalanced elements of society were given a human face that everyone could relate to. The poverty and violence of Brazil finally acquired a face, as opposed to being some myth that everyone ignored. Mev Puleo brought a sense of awareness to her community through her photography.
